Welcome on the Safeguarding Youth Sport (SYS) project website! We kindly invite you to look around and learn more on this exciting project and its outcome.
The European SYS project, managed by the International Centre Ethics in Sport (BE) in close collaboration with ten partners from eight EU Member States, ran for 18 months from 1 January 2014 until 30 June 2015 and received funding through the 2013 Preparatory Actions in the Field of Sport of the European Commission. Its aim was to safeguard elite young athletes from integrity threats by improving training and competition conditions.
The lead partner and applicant was the International Centre Ethics in Sport. The ten partners involved in the project were: Croatian Olympic Committee (HR), German Sport University (DE), ENGSO Youth, Lithuanian Sports University (LT), Netherlands Olympic Committee and Sport Federation (NL), Panathlon International, University of Oradea (Romania), Child Protection in Sport Unit (UK), University of Southern Denmark (DK), and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (BE).
This publication marks the end of the SYS project and reflects the results of all the hard work done by the project consortium. It wants to raise awareness of this important topic among European elite sport stakeholders and stimulate them to take action!
